Uruguay and Paraguay have reached the quarterfinals of the 47th edition of the Copa America football in Brazil. Uruguay beat Bolivia and Paraguay beat Chile 2-0 to secure a place in the last eight.
Argentina and Chile have already reached the quarterfinals from Group A. All four teams from this group have reached the quarterfinals.
Edinson Cavani scored a goal and a suicide goal to give Uruguay their first win of the tournament. Bolivia’s Carlos Lampe scored in the 40th minute to give Uruguay the lead. Kabhani scored in the 79th minute to secure Uruguay’s victory.
In another match, Paraguay defeated Chile for the second time. Samu took the lead for Paraguay in the 33rd minute. Miguel Almiron scored the second goal from the penalty spot in the 58th minute.
After the victory, Paraguay has risen to the second position by adding 6 points from 3 games. Chile, who have played all four games in the group, are third with five points. If Uruguay beat Paraguay in the final, Chile will drop to fourth place.
Argentina now play Bolivia and Paraguay play Uruguay. Argentina will remain in the top spot if they win.
