Five youths arrested for involvement in Yadav’s murder

Butwal: Five people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Mahendra Yadav, 35, of Lumbini Cultural Municipality-4, Manaura. The arrested have been identified as Baljit Pasi, 22, Durgesh Paswan, 30, Rakesh Yadav, 24, Sanjay Pasi, 20, and Sarbajit Bishwakarma, 23, of Manaura, Lumbini Cultural Municipality-4, Rupandehi, according to the District Police Office, Rupandehi.

Yadav’s body was found in the morning of June 8 at 6:30 am from Manaura Bandargarh. After receiving information about the incident, a team deployed under the command of Inspector Rabindra Mahat of the Area Police Office, Lumbini, found the body covered in blood with a sharp weapon on the head, chest, groin and genitals.

According to Bhaskar Chand, Acting Police Spokesperson and Inspector at the District Police Office, Rupendehi, the suspects arrested during the investigation into the incident had planned to kill Yadav in his village and throw him in a field. According to Chand, Yadav was killed at 12:30 pm on June 7.

He informed that further investigation is underway after the Rupandehi District Court granted permission to the five defendants who were taken under control on Tuesday. Police also recovered a sharp weapon (iron gamble) used in the murder, a handkerchief used to draw water and a green bamboo stick used in the murder.
