KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Vice Chairman Bhim Rawal has demanded the government to submit the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) implementation agreement to the parliament. Speaking at a special meeting of the House of Representatives on Friday.
Rawal said that some provisions in the MCC implementation agreement were treasonous and warned not to allow them to be passed by the parliament without amending them.
He said that some of the provisions in the MCC were against the constitution of Nepal and were against Nepal’s sovereignty, independence .
Vice President Rawal said all agreements with the MCC should be tabled in Parliament. Citizens should know all the issues mentioned in the agreement. Every member of the House of Representatives has the right to know that.
If the agreement is made without changing the provisions of Nepal’s interest, independence, independence, self-respect and Nepal’s independent foreign policy, it will be treasonous.
As Nepali citizens have suffered in the past due to unequal treaties, the pain will be repeated. The existing agreements should be passed only by amending them.
